OpenTelemetry Collector Follow-up Survey

The 2025 OpenTelemetry Collector survey reveals continued scaling of deployments, with Kubernetes remaining dominant (81%) and increased VM usage (51%). While customization is rising (46% build their own Collector), usability of the Collector Builder remains a key challenge, with 61% finding it difficult to use. Top improvement requests center around configuration management, stability, and Collector observability, alongside a need for more dynamic reconfiguration and better documentation.
