2018 year in review

Datadog had a productive 2018, highlighted by the release of a completely rewritten Datadog Agent (version 6) built with Go. They significantly expanded their platform with new features like log management, expanded APM support for languages like Java and Node.js, and improved observability tools like Service Maps and App Analytics. Additionally, Datadog focused on user experience improvements – including a revamped Host/Container Map, a new Learning Center, and integrations with over 250 services – alongside launching a European region for data residency.
