Modernize Datadog API authentication with scoped credentials

Datadog is replacing its traditional application key authentication model with a new, identity-aware system designed to better support modern infrastructure like CI/CD pipelines and AI agents. The updated framework introduces four specialized approaches—Personal Access Tokens (PATs), Service Access Tokens (SATs), workload identity federation, and OAuth clients—to provide more granular security and auditing. While existing application keys will remain functional as legacy features until Q3 2026, Datadog encourages users to migrate to these new methods for improved management.
