Fueling visual insights with MCP applications for complex data analysis

This article introduces new UI capabilities for Dynatrace’s Model Context Protocol (MCP) applications, allowing developers to visualize data directly within their IDEs and AI assistants like GitHub Copilot. This upgrade moves beyond text-based outputs, enabling interactive data exploration, filtering, and drill-downs—with built-in actionability and human verification—to enhance problem investigation and analysis. The new feature is secure through sandboxing and controlled communication and is already available in the latest version of the Dynatrace local MCP Server.
