What is attack surface management?


Summary

Attack Surface Management (ASM) is a continuous process of discovering, monitoring, and mitigating risks across all an organization’s assets – including cloud resources, applications, and identities. Unlike traditional security which relies on known assets, ASM proactively seeks out unknown or misconfigured exposures that attackers could exploit. By combining asset visibility with understanding of access and permissions, organizations can move beyond reactive security and continuously reduce their overall risk in today’s dynamic environments.
