ForgeRock, an identity and access management company, transitioned to Prometheus for unified monitoring across their diverse product suite, moving away from complex integrations with multiple protocols like SNMP and JMX. They built a custom implementation leveraging Micrometer and DropWizard to adapt Prometheus's dimensional model to their hierarchical metric structure, resulting in improved testing, faster issue resolution, and better product understanding. Now, Prometheus is central to ForgeRock’s monitoring strategy, both for their on-premise customers and their expanding Software-as-a-Service offerings, providing both tenant-specific and centralized monitoring views.
