Interview with Life360

Life360, a family connection app handling massive traffic (700k requests/minute), moved to Prometheus from a fragmented monitoring system (Copperegg, Graphite, Sensu, Cloudwatch) due to scalability issues and a need for better coverage, particularly for MySQL and Cassandra. After a successful proof-of-concept, they transitioned to a dedicated Prometheus instance and saw significant gains in visibility and instrumentation, allowing them to focus on anomaly detection and proactive alerting—and are now prioritizing Prometheus for new service instrumentation.
