Interview with ShowMax

ShowMax, a video-on-demand service operating in 65 countries, struggled with the scalability and stability of their previous monitoring systems (Graphite and OpenTSDB). They transitioned to Prometheus after a successful proof of concept, finding it more stable and providing faster metric access for developers, aiding their DevOps culture. While initially using a push-based metric ingestion, they plan to adopt Prometheus’ recommended pull model and further refine their alerting system.
