Introducing the Prometheus Conformance Program

The Prometheus project is launching a Conformance Program, backed by the CNCF, to certify that components work seamlessly within the Prometheus ecosystem and prevent unexpected behavior. This program will use automated tests to grant "compliant" and "compatible" marks to projects and vendors demonstrating adherence to Prometheus specifications – initially for PromQL, Remote Read-Write, and OpenMetrics. The goal is to foster interoperability and innovation by establishing a clear standard for Prometheus compatibility, with tests open for community contribution and marks valid for a limited time.
