Monitoring DreamHack - the World's Largest Digital Festival

DreamHack, the world's largest digital festival, requires building a massive network from scratch in just five days to support over 10,000 gamers. The DreamHack Network team (dhtech) utilizes a custom monitoring solution called “dhmon”, recently upgraded to use Prometheus for its time-series data storage and querying. This system allows them to proactively identify and resolve network issues with a goal of fixing problems before attendees even notice, leveraging a combination of Prometheus, Redis/Memcached for low-latency data, and a web application for visualization.
