Elastic and Jina AI join forces to advance open source retrieval for AI applications

Elastic has partnered with Jina AI, experts in open-source AI search foundation models, to enhance the retrieval capabilities of the Elasticsearch platform. This collaboration will integrate Jina AI’s advanced embeddings, rerankers, and small language models – available both freely on Hugging Face and via Elastic’s Inference Service – to deliver more relevant and powerful AI-driven search experiences. Ultimately, the goal is to combine large language models with user data for improved context and results within Elasticsearch.
