New Relic developed STAR (System, Tooling, and Architecture Review) to replace the fragmented, "waterfall" approach of separate security, legal, and compliance review queues. By utilizing a single Jira-based intake portal, the system automates the simultaneous routing of requests to all necessary departments, providing reviewers with complete context from the start. This unified approach reduces internal friction and enables New Relic to provide customers with more cohesive, efficient, and reliable compliance information.
